La Perouse Bay 5-6 Hour Ride

We have exceptional neck reining horses, many raised and trained by us. We match each person to their horse by ability and offer help and lessons as needed to each rider. All rides are on Ulupalakua Ranch, a 20,000 acre open range, overlooking the Ahihi-Kinau Reserve and La Perouse Bay, and offer spectacular views of the most recent lava flow and the neighboring islands. Enjoy quick glimpses of Axis deer and other wildlife. During the winter months, we are graced by great views of whales below in La Perouse Bay. Bring your camera, your cowboy hat, and your spirit for adventure! Makena Stables offers a variety of rides, but only one ride daily. All rides are Western Style, and children at least 13 years are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Rides are physically strenuous and we recommend that all riders be in good physical condition. Weight limit is 205 pounds. Each ride is guided, and the maximum we allow per group is 6 persons. This ensures a fun time for all!
